There is a saying that states: “give your time, talent and treasure”. The treasure spoken of in this quote is not found within a person, nor does it have any eternal value. Unlike the true treasure that resides within every true believer, the treasure in the statement above usually refers to finances or money. Money, however, is and always will be a highly motivating, luring, entity that some have said has a belief and a God all of its own. Fact is, money or whatever commodity that can be transferred into money is not only viewed as “treasure” but all who has it, especially in abundance is placed in the deceiving category of being “a success”.

However; after receiving Jesus through faith as your “Lord and Savior”, or as most Christians would say “being born again”. From that moment on your life will never be the same. Your new nature will take over, being guided from within. Your treasure and eternal goal will be the reflecting of our Savior, the King of kings that is living and working His will and purpose in and through us

knowing that our lives are not our own, that we were brought with a heavy price is a heavenly feeling one must personally own. Having the joy of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit guiding us to do God’s will, to share the precious treasure and wonder of the living “Word” is far beyond just a feeling or a thrill. It is the physical manifestation of His will an understatement if you please, that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior full of grace from the gospels, a true treasure from above that changes the world and sets those in bondage free, now wants to live in our hearts for all eternity.

That “born again, new nature” experience has within it, the ability for our Lord’ to live and work His will in and through us via way of the Holy Spirit that allows us to share with the world the “good news” through our lives as the treasure of light and freedom.

The hidden treasure of the Holy Spirit within us shines the light on the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For that reason, we are being trusted to carry that precious spiritual treasure. Therefore, my prayer is for all born again followers of Christ to become like a mother in labor and with every breath and every push eagerly awaits and longs for another blessed opportunity to share the freedom and power of the fullness of the hidden treasure that is within all who believe.

Scripture to stand on:

Matthew 13:44 KJV:
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
2 Corinthians 4:7 KJV:
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Matthew 6:20 KJV:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Earthly Treasures

by Deborah Ann Belka

I once set my sights,
on worldly things . . .
hoping true happiness
to me they would bring.

But, they soon corroded,
and all turned into rust
that is why it’s only God
in whom I put my trust.

I once relied on people,
to bring me pleasure
but they couldn’t convey
love I could treasure.

For, too often my bubble,
they would only bust
tis why it is in God
I have come to trust.

I once put my trust,
in people and things
but, now I look to God . . .
for the joy salvation brings!

Beloved, If you want to develop a personal relationship with this Jesus or rededicate your life to Him, please read and embrace the scripture below, then repeat the brief prayer under the scripture

Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 KJV:

  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
  • For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

Brief prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and was raised from the dead. I now repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and save me, creating the vessel you desire for me to be in Jesus’s name, Amen!
