One of today’s continuous hunger and most elusive search is for that all-consuming, mind quieting and soul resting inner peace. The atmosphere of Inner peace is a state of being that will put at ease the troubles of today and banishes the demons of yesterday that visit frequently to torment the mind and replay all the wrongs that one has done and is trying to leave behind. The opposite of this setting is a continuous confusing mental climate of accusing and condemning that will rob anyone of clear thinking, rest and peace. Inner Peace is simply achieved by trusting, standing and acting on faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Inner peace comes with a cost. It requires dying to self, getting out of the driver’s seat and letting Jesus navigate His way. To some, this may be too much to bear. Many would rather continue doing their own thing instead of surrendering all to experience the wonderful joy that only a life filled with Jesus can bring.

Having the presence of Jesus Christ, the “Prince of Peace” indwelling in you through the “Holy Spirit” will change your entire life forever and give you the desire, the wisdom, the direction and the strength to do what is needed to obtain inner peace.

Inner peace comes when you decide to obey God and follow His lead. Getting rid of anything that will hinder your relationship with Him will immediately improve your inner peace. Therefore, to thine own self you must be true and start making those changes you know you need to make.

Today we must put away any and all things that may stand in the way of our spiritual growth and emotional wellbeing. We must open the curtains and windows of our lives letting God’s Heavenly light shine in to scan and cleanse all the contents of our life making it brand new, reflecting His holiness with joy and honor too.

Simply surrendering, accepting, standing and acting on faith as Jesus leads the way is the answer to inner peace, Serenity, calmness of mind and soul that few will ever otherwise behold. You will learn not to let “secret sin” have its way, even though it may look and feel good for a moment or for a day, even for a season or two but in the end, it will take your eyes, heart and mind off of Jesus and return it to self-motive, pleasure, and destruction. Destroying the goodness, mercy and grace, all of which are the wonderful qualities our loving, sovereign Savior suffered and died for and so freely and willingly gave.

Scripture to stand on:

Isaiah 26:3 KJV:
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Butterfly

by Maya Angelou

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly,
but rarely admit the changes
it has gone through
to achieve that beauty.
