Beloved, please know that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. If you have given your life to the Lord, you are not your own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). please know that the spirit of the living God dwells within you and for His spirit to accomplish His plans and purpose for your life or mine and for those whom He has assigned to our lives we must get out of His way and allow Him to maneuver freely. As His spirit speaks, I’m going to stop and make it personal here; I must allow Him to increase and control my life as I decrease and lessen the control of my life. He must have free reign in every area of my life. Therefore, there must be a continuous dying to self in order for His will to have His way in and through my life. There must be “less of me and more of Him always.”
The Bible beautifully states in Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. What things? Anything your heart desires according to God’s will. Many people desire flashy selfish things, some just desire the basic things of life, like a healthy happy family, adequate income, a decent, wholesome place to live, a reliable car, etc. still some desire spiritual things, like a closer walk and a deeper revelation of God. Well, my friend, we have a heavenly father that delights in giving us our heart desire no matter what it is in a much greater, bountiful way than any earthly father could ever do and more as long as it is in alignment and keeping with His will, plans and purpose. That’s the key and the crucial element. His will must be done. Because He is sovereign and knows the end from the beginning, He knows what is best for us in the long run.
The fact is since our Father is a God of order as well as a God of unconditional love. We should want to do His will as the Bible instructs us to and put Him first in everything that we do, not just to be blessed by Him but to have a more intimate walk with Him, to gain and develop a deeper more personal relationship with Him. So that when a crisis occurs, we won’t have to wait to go into our prayer closet, praise Jesus! Because the one who walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden is now, every day in every way is walking with us. Jesus the Vine is ever-present and is already to release His problem solving, healing, restoring sap to His branches(us) any time and anywhere there is a need.
Beloved, we live in a society where the fabric of Christian believers is rapidly changing. The number of Converts has greatly declined and the ones that remain seem really confused and lukewarm. They aren’t really sure of who or what they should believe in or what they should align their lives to, especially concerning the gospels and Jesus Christ. Instead of trying to obey what should be their first love and give Him the right of passage to their lives and yield to the First and greatest commandment in the Bible which says in: Matthew 22:37: “Thy shall love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind.” Today instead, most people love and spotlight is on self and how to be politically correct and please the world and each other rather than obeying and pleasing God. Their desire and drive for fame, fortune, prestige, pleasure, and power are far stronger than their reverence and love of Jesus. Today, their affection has clearly turned toward the world and what it has to offer regardless of how far away it may take them from their basic Christian foundation, beliefs and values.
It is amazing that John the Baptist knew and realize the awesome transforming power that Jesus brings into any situation or setting. He knew that when Jesus showed up that his outreach ministry and his continuous passionate call for Salvation through a one sermon clairin call of repentance would progressively come to a close. For he had successfully accomplished the purpose and plans for which he and his ministry was created to do.
John the Baptist was to be a forerunner for Jesus. To prepare the hearts, the lives and minds of the people of that day and beyond for the coming Messiah and to pave the way for Him (Jesus) to come on the scene armed with the life-changing power of unconditional love, wisdom, virtue, mercy and grace. Giving restoration and a new life to all who are willing to decrease and die to self and drink freely from the fountain of living waters (Jesus) so He can give them a new eternal life forever. Working His will and purpose in a miraculous way in and through each one of our lives each and every day. Amen! Selah!
Scripture to stand on:
2 Peter 3:18 KJV:
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Supportive Poem:
Not I, but CHRIST
by Deborah Ann Belka
Not I, but Christ,
is why I have grace
to keep to the course
to stay in the race.
For without Jesus,
I’d couldn’t go the distance
and to temptation
I’d have no resistance.
Not I, but Christ,
is why I can cope
to remain steadfast
to maintain the hope.
For, without Jesus,
I’ve not the might
nor the power
to sustain the fight.
Not I, but Christ,
makes all possible
for with Jesus . . .
I am unstoppable!
Beloved, If you want to develop a personal relationship with this Jesus or rededicate your life to Him, please read and embrace the scripture below, then repeat the brief prayer under the scripture
Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 KJV:
- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
- For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
Brief prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and was raised from the dead. I now repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and save me, creating the vessel you desire for me to be in Jesus’s name, Amen!
