It is obvious that Jesus is the reason for the Christmas and the Easter Seasons because Christmas celebrates His birth and Easter celebrates His resurrection and triumph over sin, death and the grave. However, I would like to share something very important and try to make it very clear that Jesus controls all seasons. No matter what time of the year it maybe. Because of who He is. He is the great “I Am”” He is all powerful, all knowing and is everywhere and always in the moment. No matter the occasion or the reason.
Jesus is with us in the Spring, Winter, Summer and oh yes, the Fall. The beautiful, wonderful, breath-taking Fall”. The harvest season of the year, with its vivid, vibrant, colorful trees, baked sweet potatoes and pumpkin carving contest. Fall to many is a time of major transition of increase and prosperity. It is a time to reap the harvest of your efforts planted not too long ago.
During this same bright, beautiful season of “Harvest” to honor all of God’s blessings. At the end of each October, there emerges a dark side of the “Fall Season”, on October 31 where children usually along with their parents go out dressed in spooky, scary, ghoulish costumes, going door to door to collect candy and other goodies each year during the evening. They call this “Trick or Treat”. This ominous pagan event is part of their Halloween Holiday seasonal ritual.
Most parents and children as a whole have no idea of the history of Halloween and how and why it got started. They just eagerly join in the fun of seemingly innocent fun activities for children. They never stop to think about the dark and evil side of things that is associated with this event. Yet Jesus is still in control. He gave man a free will, yet He is still in control. He always has a way of protecting His people.
Because Jesus is in control. Thank God! Many churches knowing the dark history and purpose of Halloween has now started offering church Harvest Festivals for their families on October 31. Therefore, I urge you to check out the history of Halloween. Then make a decision. I believe as a Christian you would see the light and the light of the truth would set you free. If you are a believer of Christ, Halloween should not be a day of celebration but a day of reflection of Jesus unconditional love, grace, mercy and power and how He can and will bring you or anyone out of the spirit of darkness into His marvelous spirit of light if you would only believe, trust and ask Him to. If you are not a believer, I would like to show you how to become one at the end of this page. Because no matter what event, holiday, time of the year or occasion Jesus is always in control. His will shall prevail. He is the first and the last, the great “I Am”. The “Alpha and Omega”. Therefore, Jesus is always in control of all seasons to bless His people and for His purpose, honor and glory.
Selah!

Supportive Poem:
God’s in Control
by Deborah Ann Belka
There comes a time for all of us,
to stop and consider why we fuss
about the things we can’t control
and how on us ~ they take their toll.
Something’s are just not in our grasp,
to understand or to hold and clasp
and as we question and wonder why
our shoulders sag ~ our spirits sigh.
We want nothing to do with suffering,
so we complain and start out muttering
life is so unfair ~ becomes our drawl
as we blame God for dropping the ball.
But, we know these aren’t the true facts,
for God has promised to protect our backs
but, it seems that at times like these . . .
the Lord has to bring us to our knees.
So we’ll see He has things under His control,
and He is still working to make us whole
He needs to complete the good work in us
and that is the why ~ we mustn’t fuss!
Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 KJV:
- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
- For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
Brief prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and was raised from the dead. I now repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and save me, creating the vessel you desire for me to be in Jesus’s name, Amen!
