December is here and Christmas is just around the corner. Christmas carols are in the air and holiday shoppers and seasonal decorations are everywhere. Soon there will be Santa perched on his annual throne being featured in every commercial mall and retail zone. With his rosy flush cheeks and his long white beard, to most he is the picture of all that is wholesome, caring and good. Dressed as usual in his bright red suit crowned with his big wide grin, like a giant magnet he really knows how to pull the audience in. His signature theatrical laughter of ho, ho, ho, vividly on display and his perfected crafted charm just takes the children away to an enchanted land of hope relaxation and trust that allows them to open up and share their most precious Christmas wishes with great expectations that they will surely come true. For it seems as if the whole world has stopped and rolled out the red carpet and given Santa their approval and permission to hog the attention of this sacred, special, designated season. The real reason for the season is not even mentioned or even acknowledged in most places and to some just the mentioning of His name is discouraged and even shame. Through all this festivity, excitement and Christmas pageantry it amazes me that no one seems to know, remember or even care about the purpose and the ‘real reason for the season”, Jesus Christ. Why we should honor and remember Him for He is the heart and hallmark of Christmas and “the reason for the Season”,

Jesus Christ my friend is the essence and reason for this season and all that is good and pure. He is the “reason for every season. Just so happens this one is appointed especially for Him to celebrate His amazing birth. The amazing grace, love and joy that only His presence brings. For He is the rarest and best of everything.

This I want you to know my friend, Jesus unconditional love and willingness to give up His life and deity just for us is a gift beyond words. It is a divine gift and a clear example of His mercy and unmerited grace. A life-changing gift that no man can boast and say that he has earned. It is an eternal gift from God anchored and deeply rooted in unconditional love through an obedient son, that was destined to be born of a chosen virgin in a lowly manger and later become the willing and obedient sacrifice to pay the sin debt for all humanity to be free.

During this Christmas season my friend, please take a moment to pause, reflect and remember Jesus, the real reason for the season with true love, reverence and praise, and I promise you when you get to know Him and show Him honor and gratitude this intimacy and closeness will eventually and vividly reflect on your face. For it mirrors and looks like a heavenly glow, creating a countenance that is so beautiful and bright that spans its light day and night with a radiance that shines from within of the love and adoration that can’t be contained but just have to be shouted out loud and sing, “Jesus Birth” is the reason for this annual Holy Season. In Luke 2:13-14 KJV says: And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying (14) Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men. During this season of hustle and bustle, please know that long, long ago just because God loved us so much, He sent His only son into this world to set us free. Free from the bondage and penalties of inherited sin. And for that, His birth is the reason for us to celebrate and sing. Not Santa Claus or any of today’s commercial things that are directly or indirectly related to Him.

Sad to say, with open arms and a great big smile, Santa Claus will continue to attract, deceive, meet, and greet countless number of girls and boys this Christmas season and the Christmas seasons to come just like in the past with a hearty “Ho, Ho, Ho”! and an opening question “what can Santa do for you this year”? Each child with bated breath eagerly waiting their turn hoping to give him their Christmas list that they hold so dear, hoping for the best but never truly knowing what really to expect. Many of these children are poor and are blessed just to be able to sometimes to get a small glass of Kool-Aid and a piece of bread to eat. That is why it is so important to share Jesus, our creator and provider and the true reason for the Christmas season with them. For Jesus will somehow always provide and make a way when many times there may seem to be no way. That’s when He will show up and open doors that no man can open or shut doors that no man can shut. Therefore, with that in mind, there is no better time or season than the Christmas season to introduce or even add to the knowledge of the one who gave His all so that we can have it all, here on earth and for all eternity.

The need to know and hear about Jesus is not just during the Christmas season but it is for life. We as followers of Christ should always be mindful of the fact that we should take every opportunity given to us to share Jesus. Because of that fact, my prayer today is that you would come to know and always remember God’s redemptive gift to all mankind who is in essence the real reason for the season and His name is “Jesus”, sweet wonderful gracious, merciful Jesus!

Remember God loves you!
Be blessed and have a wonderful day!!
Merry Christmas!!!

Scriptures to stand on:

Luke 2:11 KJV:
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Isaiah 9:6 KJV:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Supportive Poem:

Jesus Is The Reason

by Joanna Fuchs

In Bethlehem, God gave to us
The source of Christmas joy;
A star is shown on a miracle:
The virgin birth of a boy.

He was born both God and man,
A Savior for us all,
The way to get to our heavenly home,
If we just heed His call.

So as we shop and spend and wrap
And enjoy the Christmas season,
Let’s keep in mind the sacred truth:
Jesus is the reason.

Beloved, If you want to develop a personal relationship with this Jesus or rededicate your life to Him, please read and embrace the scripture below, then repeat the brief prayer under the scripture

Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 KJV:

  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
  • For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

Brief prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and was raised from the dead. I now repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and save me, creating the vessel you desire for me to be in Jesus’s name, Amen!
