Life is sometimes so unfair and cruel. It makes you just want to give up and throw in the towel. But listen carefully my friend, that should never be an option or a thought that you should allow or want to entertain. Because my mom use to always encourage us to stay in the fight even when we are hit the hardest and the darkest days seems to never end. That is when Jesus is about to enter in, she would always say and put your suffering to an end. Remember life is a journey, not a sprint but a marathon, not a smooth highway but the potter’s wheel. Full of unexpectant challenges and continuous revolving seasons that requires us to be faithful, flexible and strong.
Therefore, if we are going to accomplish God’s plans and purpose for our lives. We must determine to stand even when others are not standing with us and our knees may feel weak like they may want to give way and buckle, yet we stand. We must be firmly committed to the cause whatever it maybe. “Being faithful”. taking one day at a time, one step at a time knowing that God is not only on our side but He is truly our guide. We know that we can’t lose because God has already won the battle. All we have to do is to continue to follow in His footsteps and continue to keep the faith. Just show up when needed and do the best you can.
Because many times our sufferings will be the work of the invisible hand of God, molding and shaping us into the vessels, he desires for us to be. if we are faithful and wise to see that the molding and shaping is to make us more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. It will change our lives in a major way for the better. There is a scripture that says: In 1Peter 5:10: “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and established you”. Wow! What an awesome fact.
Beloved, the above is God’s promise. No matter what you are going through, have gone through or will go through in the future, God is faithful. He will never forsake you or put you to shame. He sees your efforts and pain and one day by His grace you will reap a reward.
Joseph and Job are two great examples of suffering to glory and for glory. Joseph was sold by his brothers to a caravan of Ishmaelites’ going into Egypt. Once in Egypt Joseph winded up being sold as a slave. After his owner observed his work, Joseph was quickly given a promotion and was promoted from the field to a “house slave” as chief manager over his owners house hold. Where his owner’s wife lusted after him and later lied on him after he had refused her advances. Which later caused him to be thrown into prison.
Joseph suffered for a cause that he was not even aware of at the time but latter he became acutely aware that “what the enemy meant for harm, God intended it for good. Joseph was the main piece of the plan to save his family line and to fulfill God’s promise. Joseph was faithful and thankful for God using him that way Because in the end God’s purpose was fulfilled and He became a much better man. Trials and challenges are painful and sometimes very mysterious but they are there for a reason and a purpose.
Our friend Job won the Oscar for suffering without a cause and I’m sure he often wondered why, why me Lord? But all the time he remained faithful, not understanding or having any answers, but still he kept trusting in God. Just like Joseph, he didn’t realize that he was a part of a major test of “faith and endurance”, and it too had a purpose. God told the devil that Job was a faithful servant and immediately the devil set out to prove God wrong. But, in the end, the devil failed because it was proven that even after continuous mind-boggling lost, Job never wavered but remained steadfast, immovable and faithful. Yes, Job was indeed a true, faithful servant. No matter the onslaught of pain and calamity that his suffering caused. Job remained faithful even after his wife told him to curse God and die.
Beloved, that is what true love and faith is all about. And what God requires from each one of us. Just trust Him and believe, even if we can’t see our way, understand or even know what is going on. We should strive for childlike faith every day. For our love for Jesus should compel us to “be faithful” and all that God desires for us to be. Because His desires are always for our best as stated in 3rd John 2: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”. And as we all know, to mirror Him in thought, word and deed. Amen!!

Supportive Poem:
Be Faithful Daily
by Bill Kochman
Sometimes I just get so tired,
Maybe I will throw in the towel,
But God won’t accept nonsense,
Or any of our complaining now.
Pushing out the Gospel daily,
At times is a difficult task,
But we must each be obedient,
Do whatever our Father may ask.
In His time we will be finished,
We’ll go Home and take our rest,
Until then be faithful daily,
And by His Grace do your best.
Beloved, If you want to develop a personal relationship with this Jesus or rededicate your life to Him, please read and embrace the scripture below, then repeat the brief prayer under the scripture
Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 KJV:
- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
- For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
Brief prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and was raised from the dead. I now repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and save me, creating the vessel you desire for me to be in Jesus’s name, Amen!
