It amazes me that many folks are so quick to call themselves “Christians” without even having evidence, actions or lifestyle to support their statements. Many Christians seemingly doesn’t think that their actions and what they say seriously matters. However, that’s where God’s foundational spiritual principles come into play. These principles help guide us on the path of right thinking and right behavior. Some even call them the “Golden Rule”.

Fact is, if only People who call themselves Christians could see and realize that their bodies are not their own, that they were bought with a heavy price, maybe that would make a difference in their lives. Then maybe they could see that everything that they do matters greatly to God and should matter greatly to them as well because there is a heavy price for disobedience of His principles.

These “Spiritual Principles” are foundational and were established and created by God to help guide us in our daily walk with Him and with others. Refusing to embrace the fact of God’s principles and live within the guidelines and requirements of these principles are asking for serious consequences and generational regret.

God desires for us to live a life that honor’s Him and respect and treat others as you would want others to treat you. God wants us to know that we all must take up our cross daily and carry it. As God gives us the strength, the understanding, the wisdom and guidance that is required of a committed journey and life with Jesus. It is important and vital for God’s word to guide our daily walk through His created principles and a committed relationship with Him.

Many Christians who have “back slidden” have mentioned countless times, “I’ve tried so hard to do this or to do that but I keep failing”. Never accepting or coming to the realization of why whatever it is continues to happen? Why, does it keep occurring?

That my friend is the real issue. The “I” factor. This Christian journey was never meant to be walked alone. You must decrease and allow God to work His will in and through you. That’s why Many have as the Bible so vividly states in 2 Timothy 3:5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof”. They are walking this journey through their own strength and that was never God’s plan.

Jesus said that He would give us a comforter to help us to navigate life after He leaves this world. And He surely did. The Holy Spirit is many things including an on-time helper in the form of the third person of the” Trinity”. He empowers us with standing grace in order to make wise decisions, live right and to do the right things. If only we by faith are willing to surrender ourselves to the will and grace of God.

When we do the Holy Spirit gives us the power and the ability to accomplish whatever God places in our hearts to do and more. But we must come to know and embrace God’s spiritual principles that are already in place that will not and cannot change. Because God put these principles in place and He cannot lie and His word is always true. If you willingly disrespect and disregard God’s spiritual principles you will have to suffer the consequences. Because there are some Christians who seems to dismiss, ignore and have no reverence or no acceptance for God’s principles as a rule, a law, a guideline, or a fact that is always true regardless.

With that in mind; There is one spiritual principle that my mother taught us that has always intrigued me. One that my mother use to emphasize to all of her children as a “golden rule”. This principle has created a humble, reverent spirit of complete surrender, praise and worship in me that to this day guides my “Faith Walk”.

This spiritual Principle is so powerful yet is easily understood. Because it is the reflection of God’s heart. To me it is very profound and is found in Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 8, which says: “knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.” This principle comes from God like a promise that is already fulfilled. Why? Because it is! We know that God can not lie Therefore knowing that whatever He says He will surely do. Because He is not like man that can lie, twist things and many times never follow through on their word, but He is God who purchase us with His blood and gave us principles to live by to guide us through this life. Therefore, rest assured that whatever deeds you give (good or bad) will surely come back to you more abundantly than you gave. God’s principles are true. Hallelujah!! Praise the Lord!

Supportive Poem:

The Golden Rule

by James Wells

In your daily round of duties,
As you make your way through life;
As you gaze upon its beauties,
And you look upon its strife,
There’s a rule of conduct given,
Which I will commend to you:
Always do unto another
What you’d have him do to you.

If, perchance, along life’s highways,
You should meet a man that’s down,
Or you meet him on the byways,
Where he meets with many a frown,
Won’t you try to help him, brother,
‘Ere he passes from your view?
Won’t you do unto another
What you’d have him do to you?

Once upon a time the Saviour
Came into this world of sin,
Came into this world to suffer,
Precious souls that He might win.
And He gave to us a precept
Did this Saviour, kind and true:
Always do unto another
What you’d have him do to you.

Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 KJV:

  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
  • For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

Brief prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and was raised from the dead. I now repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and save me, creating the vessel you desire for me to be in Jesus’s name, Amen!
