Beloved, as Christians, we often say, “Jesus is first in our lives” and “His will is our will.” But is that really true? This question is important and meant to be thought-provoking because if it were true, many repeated acts of sin, rebellion, and disobedience would not keep happening in the lives of believers.

If Jesus were truly first and foremost in our lives, we would see life, people, and circumstances through His eyes, giving us a whole new perspective, motive, and drive. Then it would no longer be about us or our will, but His will—His plans and purpose—always taking center stage in our hearts and minds, and clearly reflected in our lives.

So now, I challenge you to be honest with yourself and with God. Examine your heart and lifestyle. Does it truly reflect that Jesus is fully in control? Does it mirror His heart and desires for your life? If you are honest, most would say no. Why? Because many—even regular churchgoers—claim that Jesus is first and Lord of their lives, but often that is just talk and not reality. Most refuse to put self aside, dying to self so that Christ can shine forth from our lives as He directs our path.

If we could only see our lives and actions the way He does—through His eyes—they would grieve us so deeply that we would stop, think, and turn away from anything sinful, dishonoring, and displeasing to God.

Beloved, God loves us more than we can ever comprehend. Please remember this: Jesus’ love is free—He loves all of us! But His promises are not; they require action on our part. When we willingly go astray, disobey God, and put Him on the back burner—living life our way, knee-deep in sin and corruption while trying to straddle the fence between good and evil, light and darkness—we fail to see things through His eyes. And so, we sink deeper and deeper into the muck and mire.

Don’t wait until everyone has forsaken you and life knocks you to your knees before you develop a repentant heart and, by God’s grace, can freely say, “I now see it God’s way.” For when you look through His eyes, the Holy Spirit will empower you. He will give you strength, wisdom, and insight to overcome any bondage that holds you captive.

No matter what happens, please strive to see yourself and life itself through His eyes—the eyes of Jesus, the One who loves us so much that He came and died to set the captives free. That, my friend, includes you and me.

Amen! Selah!

Through His Eyes

Seeing life through the eyes of God
keeps us, comforts us and guides us
through the sometimes dark
and daunting path of life

Beloved, If you want to develop a personal relationship with this Jesus or rededicate your life to Him, please read and embrace the scripture below, then repeat the brief prayer under the scripture

Scripture: Romans 10:9-10 KJV:

  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
  • For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

Brief prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and was raised from the dead. I now repent of my sins and ask that you come into my life and save me, creating the vessel you desire for me to be in Jesus’s name, Amen!
